North Georgia Tree AlertsThis section is designed to keep our community informed on dangers our trees may encounter. We will do our best to alert you of potential hazards such as disease or dangers from insect to our beautiful North Georgia Trees. One of the current dangers is the Woolly Adelgid (Adelges Tsugae) are insects which are deadly to our Georgia Hemlocks and need to be controlled urgently at first sighting. Hemlock plants can be destroyed without proper treatment. Always look out for forest fire prevention. Most forest fires are caused by neglect or by arson. As a camper; always be sure to out fires completely. If you smoke; be careful where and how you dispose of your cigarettes. If you have any knowledge of anyone that commits arson; please let the authorities know. Storm Alert: Please be prepared and give us a call to inspect any trees that may imposed a danger by tipping over or broken limbs that may be caused by the severe storms we get in North Georgia. It will save you potentially a lot of money by giving us a call before a storm hits then the clean up after will cost, Also there are a lot of safety factors to consider. Dangerous Tree Alert This March wind will be blowing strong as usual. If you suspect a tree could topple give us a call. These large trees can cause serious damage to your house or automobiles when they fall. Also many falling trees destroy the neighbors property which can result in unnecessary lawsuits. Bradford Pears are indeed beautiful trees especially in spring. However due to the lack of limb stability and or weak limbs these trees may not be the best choice as far as landscaping is concerned. An ice storm or heavy winds will cause severe damage and clean-up issues. Give us a call and we can recommend other beautiful alternatives to plant this spring.
